Holcie Stinson, 79, of Iaeger, WV, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020 in the Bower’s Hospice House in Beckley, WV.

Holcie was born June 28, 1941 in Iaeger, WV, a son of the late Herman and Thelma Coleman Stinson.  He was a retired coal miner and a proud member of the UMWA.  He was of the Pentecostal Faith and affiliated with the High Knob Church of the Living God.  Holcie was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed riding four wheelers and side by side.

In addition to his parents, Herman and Thelma Stinson, Holcie was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Barnes Stinson; three sons, Rex, Kenneth and Timothy Stinson and two brothers, Frank and Homer Stinson.

Survivors include three daughters, Tootsie Shrader (Thomas), Sandy Hunt, and Sabrina Poore (Jimmy) all of Iaeger; two sons, Steve Stinson and wife Wanda of Three Forks and Justin Stinson and wife Lisa of Iaeger; seven grandchildren, Dr. Carl D. Shrader, Jr. and wife Erica of Morgantown, WV, Daniel Stinson of New Martinsville, WV, Gabriel Hunt and wife Ashley of Princeton, WV, Garrett Hunt of Bluewell, WV, Mandi Toler and husband Garrett of Pounding Mill VA, Dylan Poore of Iaeger, WV, and Derrick Stinson of Rich Creek, VA; eight great grandchildren, Andrew, Elizabeth, and Nathaniel Shrader, Mahrrisa, and Kallisa Stinson, Phyllisa Stacy, Lucus Hunt and MoNaya Gibson; one sister, Arbutis Matney and husband Alfred of Iaeger, WV; three brothers Gene Stinson of Garland, WV, Homer Stinson Jr. and wife Ellen of grapevine, WV; and Danny Stinson and wife Lilly of Beartown, WV; and a host of nieces and nephews.  

Due to the rapid spread of COVID 19 in our area, the family will gather for a private funeral service, for immediate family only. Services will be conducted Wednesday at 12 o’clock with Reverend Wayne Kennedy officiating at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger. Burial will follow in the High Knob Cemetery on Coon Branch Mountain near Iaeger where friends are invited to attended. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Services will be held in accordance with Covid-19 guidelines, mask are to be worn by all attending and social distancing is to be practiced.
