Mildred Blankenship New, 75, of Panther, WV, passed away, Friday, December 25, 2020, at her residence.

Mildred was born September 16, 1945, in Panther, WV, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Mary Bailey Mitchell.  She was homemaker, of the Baptist faith, and enjoyed spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Lawrence and Mary Mitchell, Mildred was preceded in death by her first husband, Joe Blankenship; second husband, Hershel New; one daughter Susan Matney; and one sister, Lucy Spencer.

Survivors include three sons, Terry(Sandra)Blankenship, Russell(Delena)Blankenship, and Joe(Lora) Blankenship all of Panther; six grandchildren, Terry(Pukin) and Santana Blankenship, Kim Blankenship, and Dock New all of Panther, Brandi Blankenship of Bluefield, WV, Jodi (David) Justice of Panther, and Joshua Blankenship of Bluefield, WV; two great grandchildren, C.J. Compton and Alyssa Blankenship both of Panther; and two brothers, Roger(Peggy)Mitchell and Vernon Mitchell all of Martinsville, VA.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at 11o’clock with Reverend John Hunt officiating at the Panther Missionary Baptist Church in Panther, WV. Burial will in the Blankenship Cemetery at Panther, WV.  Serving as pallbearers will be Terry Blankenship, Russell Blankenship, Joe Blankenship, Terry (Punkin) Blankenship, Dock New, Joshua Blankenship, and David Justice.

Friends may visit with the family Monday evening, December 28, 2020 after 6 p.m. at the Panther Missionary Baptist Church in Panther, WV.

Services will be held in accordance with Covid-19 guidelines, mask are to be worn by all attending and social distancing is to be practiced.
