Norma Jean Sigmon Doss, 86, of Carswell in Kimball, W.V. passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020 at the Glenwood Park Retirement Village. She was born on August 30, 1934 in Carswell. She was the daughter of the late Everett and Lettie (Sow) Simon. She has been a life long resident of Carswell. She was graduate of Welch High School. She was a homemaker. Jean was a caring, loving and kind person, and she enjoyed all of her family and friends.
She was a member of the Church of Ladder Day Saints in Welch for over 71 years.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Earl P. Doss, a sister Hazel Irene Anderson, a brother James Kenneth Sigmon, and brother-in-law Pete Anderson.
She is survived by her son Mark D. (wife Sherry) Doss of Thorpe, two brothers, Everett (wife Connie) Simon of Carswell, Leland (wife Betty) Simon of Roanoke, Va. and one sister Carol (husband Bob) Wilson of Richmond, Va. Three sister-in-laws Brenda Simon of Princeton, W.V., Dorothy Carter and Jackie Calvary of Princeton, W.V. A special niece Kathy Forrest of Welch, W.V. She has three grandchildren, Mark David Doss, Jr (wife Lindsey) Kevin Doss, and Brittany Doss Drake (husband Daniel).
She has 5 great-grandchildren: Brian, Savannah, Braylon, Landon and Ellie.
Funeral services for Norma Jean Doss will be conducted on Wednesday, December 30th 2020 from 12 to 1:00 p.m. The funeral will be held at the Roselawn Memorial Garden Chapel in Princeton with Branch President Ed Laxton officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the services.
Services will be held in accordance with COVID-19 guidelines. Mask are to be worn by all attending and social distancing is to be practiced with no more than 25 people in attendance.
Pallbearers are: David and Kevin Doss, Daniel Drake, Bobby Rose, Jr., Jim Castle and John Castle.
Roselawn Funeral Home in Princeton, W.V. will be serving the Doss Family.
