Ruby Jean (Branch) Blevins 97 of Cornelius, NC died February 2, 2021. She was born on November 23, 1923 in Coalwood, WV to the late John and Daisy Virginia (Richardson) Branch.

She attended Big Creek High School and attended West Virginia University. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, Head Start teacher and US Mail Carrier. She was a resident of Welch, WV a majority of her life before moving to Cornelius, NC in 2011. She was a long-time member of Anderson Memorial Presbyterian Church in Welch, WV where she was very active and later attended church at Mt. Zion UMC in Cornelius, NC. She was a member of the Tug Twirlers Square Dance Club in Welch, WV. She was a very energetic, outgoing and sociable lady who enjoyed life and her family and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Herman E. Blevins and brother, Paul Branch.

Survivors include her son, John E. (Ed) Blevins of Nashville, GA; daughters, Rebecca Lassak and husband Skip of Sunbury, OH and Vicki Sherrill and husband Bryan of Cornelius, NC; brother, Kenneth Branch of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren David (Stephanie) Blevins, Jennifer (Glen) Dosey, Will Sherrill, Matthew (Julie) Sherrill, Ben Sherrill, Patrick (Staci) Sherrill, Chris (Robin) Lassak, Mike (Sara) Lassak, Erin Lassak, Dan (Danielle) Lassak; and 9 great grand-children.

A private memorial service and burial will take place in Princeton, West Virginia at a later date.

In lieu of flowers. Memorials may be made to Anderson Memorial Presbyterian Church in Welch, WV, Mt. Zion UMC in Cornelius, NC or charity of choice.
