Penny Sue Lester, 51, of Iaeger, WV, surrounded by her family and friends, went to be with the Lord at 1 o’clock April 16, 2021 at her home.

Penny was born March 10, 1970 a daughter of Mary “Pinkie” Collins and the late Mathew “Mack” Collins. 

She was a 1988 graduate of Iaeger High School and a graduate of the Cosmetology School in Pineville, WV. Miss Penny, as she was lovingly called, was the owner/operator of Penny’s Kwik Stop in Iaeger.  She was living a lifelong dream of having her own restaurant and been able to serve others.  She was a great cook and even won a National Award for her Broaster Chicken. 

Miss Penny became an instant celebrity, if only for a couple of weeks.  She was also a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Iaeger.

Penny was preceded in death by her father, Mathew “Mack” Collins.

Survivors include her husband of nine years, Ed Lester Jr. of the home; her mother Mary “Pinkie” Collins of Long Pole; son and daughter-in-law, Brandon and Brooke Lambert of Long Pole; two brothers, Robert Collins and Alice Mullins also of Long Pole and Mathew Collins Jr and sister-in-law, Melanie of Isaban; a sister, Larissa Crews of Hortense, GA; and two nieces, Allison and Kaitlyn Collins of Isaban. Penny will be missed greatly by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at 11 o’clock with Reverend Daniel Dean officiating at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger. Burial will follow in the Green Lester Cemetery on the Right Fork of Bull Creek near Mohawk, WV.  Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may visit with the family Monday evening, April 19, 2021 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger.

Services will be held in accordance with Covid-19 guidelines, mask are to be worn by all attending and social distancing is to be practiced.
