EDNA MULLINS HORN


Edna Mullins Horn, age 92 of Paynesville, West Virginia entered her earthly rest surrounded by loved ones on Monday, April 19, 2021 at her home.
Edna was born on January 17, 1929 at her Panther, West Virginia to Everette and Lennie (Vance) Mullins. She was a member of the Bradshaw Community Church in Paynesville, West Virginia. Edna was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She loved her family and enjoyed sharing stories about the history of her family. Edna loved sewing, selling avon, visiting her friends and family, traveling and researching her Vance, Mullins and Horn ancestry. Every year she anxiously looked forward to the Vance Reunion to reconnect with her Vance family members.
In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by four brothers, Edgar (Virgie Lee) Mullins, Lindberg (Violet) Mullins, Ralph Mullins, and David Mullins; one sister, Edith Mullins; sister-in-law, Sally “Kent” Mullins; and two brothers-in-law, Jimmy Bowles and Estel Payne.
Survivors include her husband, William Gilbert Horn; son, Jerry (Susie) Horne of Princeton, West Virginia; grandson, Jerad (Lisa) Horne of Princeton, West Virginia; great-granddaughter, Ella Horne of Princeton, West Virginia; sisters, Corina Payne of Paynesville, West Virginia; Carolyn Bowles and Brenda (Larry) Lyons of Lindside, West Virginia; sister-in-law, Wynonia “Sis” Mullins of Newport News, Virginia and Judy Mullins of Roanoke, Virginia. She is also survived by many special nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, April 23, 2021 at 12:00 Noon at the Summitt Missionary Baptist Church in Paynesville, West Virginia with Elder Jack Horne officiating.
Burial will follow at the Everette Mullins Cemetery in Paynesville, West Virginia.
Friends may visit with the family Thursday evening, April 22, 2021 at the Summitt Missionary Baptist Church at 6:00 P.M. An evening service will begin at 7:00 P.M. with Pastor Gene Addair and Pastor Bob Blevins officiating. There will also be special singing.
Nephews and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Virginia Funeral Home of Grundy, Virginia is in charge of the arrangements.
Due to Covid 19, the following suggested guidelines should be followed:

  1. Consider participating through Zoom of FM Radio frequency inside the parking lot (87.9fm).
    2.Do not attend in person if you are experiencing Covid-19 symptoms.
    3.Please limit the total amount of people inside to be less than 50.
    4.Please Socially Distance.
    5.Wear a mask.
    6.Use hand sanitizer throughout the sanctuary and at the doors.
    7.Do as much as possible outdoors.
    8.It is everyone’s goal to be as safe and as considerate as possible for family and community.
