Sonny Welch, 59 of Welch, WV  entered eternal rest Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born September 16, 1961, he was the son of the late Taylor Welch and Ruby Wright Welch.

Sonny was a very outgoing person. He enjoyed helping all people as he knew no strangers. He had turned his life to the Lord and was Baptized by his grace. One of his favorite past-times was restoring cars, and watching football. He also enjoyed old school music and loved spending time with his family and sharing meals together.

Other than his parents, Sonny was preceded in death by brothers; Larry Welch, Grady Welch, and Richard Craig.

Leaving to cherish his memories are: his loving and devoted wife of 29 years, Elaine Welch. Two daughters: Sonya Welch of Welch, WV and Patricia Valentine and fiance’ Antoine Helm of Bluefield, WV.  Four brothers: Coy Welch of Cleveland, OH, Allen Welch of Buffalo, NY, William “Bill” Welch of Premier, WV, Edward Welch of Welch, WV. One sister, Barbara Cleveland of Seaside, CA. Sonny was also blessed with two granddaughters, Ayonna Helm and Maliah Welch, as a host of other extended family an friends.

In honoring the wishes of Sonny Welch, Cremation occurred upon his passing. A Memorial service will be held Saturday, April 24, 2021 in the Widener Funeral Home Chapel, Northfork, WV at 1: PM with Rev. Edwin Ogburn officiating. The family will receive visitors from 12: Noon until the hour of service. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens at a later date.
