Ballard Jennings Kirk, Jr 69 of English, WV passed away on April 23, 2021 after a short illness.  Ballard was a caring husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend.  

Ballard was born in English, WV on October 16, 1951 to Ballard and Mary Baisden Kirk.  After graduating from school, he went to college for a short while before joining the Army.  He served nine years in the National Guard, Welch unit, Riffle section and was an E7.  Ballard began driving the shool bus for years then became supervisor over War Bus Garage.  Ballard worked for McDowell County Board of Education for 40 years. Ballard retired in 2012 to spend time with his family.  

Ballard was preceded in death by his mother, father, three brothers-in-law, loving nephews, a niece Chasity Cassaday and a granddaughter Bryndall Lovella Kirk.  

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Sherry Kirk of 46 years, a daughter Lori (Mark) Mareck of Princeton, two sons BJ (Betty) of Iaeger and Don Kirk of the home.

Sisters Berta Lois (Harold) Addair of Yukon, Patrizia Sue (Vic) Wayne of Worth, Illinois, Rhea Martin of Caretta and 6 grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank McDowell Nursing and Rehabilitation for all the special care they gave them.  A special friend Terry Earls.  Their church people at Powerhouse Ministries, Delany and Rick Muncy, Roger Hale, Lacy Griffith and everyone who prayed for the family in their time of need.  A special thank you to Charles (Tapole) Golden and son Charles and James Boy Rowe and anyone else who helped on Ballard’s grave.  

Visitation will be Thursday April, 29, 2021 at the Yukon Pentecostal Holiness Church Yukon #2 from 6:00 pm to 9 pm.  Funeral will be Friday April, 30 2021 at 1:00 pm with Rick Muncy, Roger Hale and Lacy Griffith officiating.  Burial will follow at Shrader Cemetery, Bartley #3. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Special thanks to the Rodriguez Funeral Home who is serving the Kirk family.
