John Hiram Blankenship, 75, of Bradshaw, WV, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2021 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV.

John was born October 25, 1945, in Bradshaw, WV a son of the late Ira and Cora Maloney Blankenship.  He was an auto mechanic, an avid coin collector and of the Pentecostal Faith.

In addition to his parents, Ira and Cora Blankenship, John was preceded in death by one brother, Crockett Blankenship and one sister, Martha Bowman.

Survivors include one brother-in-law, William C. Bowman of Bradshaw; one sister-in-law, Alene Blankenship of Jolo; three nephews, William “Todd” Bowman and wife Veronica of Bradshaw, Robert “Boddy” Bowman and wife Debbie of Welch, and Patrick Bowman and his companion, Verna Barnett of Raysal; one niece, Hope Blankenship Endicott and husband Dale of Lincolnton, NC; and one great niece, Ashley Bowman of Richlands, VA.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 30, 2021 at 1 o’clock with Reverend Nancy Blevins officiating at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger. Burial will follow in the Riffe Cemetery on Atwell Mountain near Atwell, WV.  Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may visit with the family at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, Friday, April 30, 2021 from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m.

Services will be held in accordance with Covid-19 guidelines, mask are to be worn by all attending and social distancing is to be practiced.
