JAMES DEWEY TAYLOR

James Dewey Taylor, 64, of Jefferson City, TN, formerly of McDowell County, went to his heavenly home on April 29, 2021.  His loving wife of 44 years, Barbara, was with him at his time of death.  

Born in Iaeger, WV, on September 18, 1956.  He was the son of the late Jim and Mary Taylor.  In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his sisters Karen Ann Taylor and Betty Jo Taylor.

He was a former radio announcer of WXEE radio station in Welch, WV, in the 1980s.  He worked for Crown Wood in North Carolina and Zenith Wood in Delaware.  He loved volunteering and helping people in his community.

James is survived by his wife Barbara Pruett Taylor; four sisters, Norma Taylor, Sue (Richard) Hurley, and Barbara (Thomas) Fields, all of Delbarton, WV, and Marretta Taylor of Williamson, WV; two brothers, Matthew (Edwina) Taylor of Athens, AL, and Mark Taylor of Knoxville, TN; mother-in-law, Maggie Pruett of Raysal, WV; brother-in-law Don (Ann) Pruett of Bland, VA; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Fresenius Dialysis centers in New Market, TN and Welch, WV, and the many friends for their loving support during his illness.

Friends may visit with the family Monday, May 3, 2021 from 12 noon until 1 p.m at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, WV; a small service will be held at 1p.m.

In honoring the wishes of the deceased, his body will be cremated following his service.

Services will be held in accordance with Covid-19 guidelines, mask are to be worn by all attending and social distancing is to be practiced.
