McDowell County Schools Prepare for Camp Comeback

MCDOWELL COUNTY, W.Va. – This summer, McDowell County Schools has planned 4 weeks of hands on and engaging summer learning at Camp Comeback.

Activities featured across the various camps include fishing, jewelry design, gymnastics and dance, culinary challenge, STEAM, football skills and more.

Camps will be held July 12th through August 6, 2021, Monday through Friday at Mount View High School and River View High School. The Career Exploration Camp will be held at the McDowell County Schools’ Career Tech Center.

During camp, students can recover credits and take elective courses on campus or online from their homes.

“Registering your child today and reserving a seat in camps will help as we finalize plans and purchase materials,” said school officials. “Please register only if you are certain, you will send your child to camp daily.”

Intervention will be provided to students who need additional support in reading and math as well. All materials, transportation and meals will be provided. Safety protocols will be followed to ensure everyone’s safety.
