Herman Mullins, 82, of Jolo, WV, passed away, Sunday, May 2, 2021 at his residence in Jolo, WV.
Herman was born May 21, 1938, in Paynesville, WV a son of the late Robert Mullins Sr. and Grace Mullins. He was a coal miner, a mechanic and a proud member of the UMWA. Herman referred to himself as the “Old Farmer”; he enjoyed gardening, fishing and bluegrass music.
In addition to his parents, Robert and Grace Mullins, Herman was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Mullins Jr.
Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Ruth Mullins of the home; one son, Gary Mullins of Knoxville, TN; two daughters, Kimberly Vanover and husband David of Grundy, VA; Stephanie Ward and husband David of Winston Salem, NC; two grandchildren, Nancy Elizabeth Ward of Boone, NC and Holden Ward of Winston Salem, NC; twin brother, Thurman Mullins and wife Faye of Ely, NC numerous nieces and nephews and numerous; special neighbors and friends, Allen Adams, Jason Payne and Eddie Arrington; and numerous other friends and neighbors.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 11 o’clock with Elder Jerry Stacy, Elder Roscoe Crouse and Elder Curtis Crouse officiating at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger. Burial will follow in the Mullins Family Cemetery on Paris Lester ridge near Paynesville, WV. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may visit with the family Tuesday evening, May 4, 2021 from 6 to 9 at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger.
Services will be held in accordance with Covid-19 guidelines, mask are to be worn by all attending and social distancing is to be practiced.
