James William “Cowboy” Bryant, 66, of Welch formerly of Hemphill went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 11, 2022 at CAMC General in Charleston. Born August 30, 1955 in Pineville, he was the son of the late Ben and Hazel Bryant.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters Patricia Bryant, Vivian Morrison, Lisa Green Mullins; his wife Wanda Bryant, and companion Dorothy Hughes; and nephews Roland Stanley, David Stanley, Nicholas Stanley and Benjaman Sutherland.
He is survived by his siblings, Michelle Hamilton and husband Rusty and Louise Bryant of Welch, Vickie Cox of Hemphill, Kathy Winsted, Benita Sutherland, and Ples Bryant and wife Billie all of Statesville, NC, Karen North and Brenda Bryant both of Pinehurst, ID, and Anna Bjarnason of Redding, CA; his children, Melissa Whalen and Walter and Donna Hammitt of Inman, SC; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, February 18 at 11 a.m. from the Helping Hands Hemphill Holiness Church with his cousin Reverend William (Bill) Crawford and Pastor J.B. Robinette officiating. Burial will follow in the Mullins-Hurt Cemetery in Hemphill.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. at the church on Thursday.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Services will be held in accordance with Covid-19 guidelines, masks are to be worn by all attending and social distancing is to be practiced.
