Roger Lee Bryant, 81, of Raysal WV, lost his eleven year long, courageous battle to Multiple Myeloma on February 12, 2022.
Roger was born January 22, 1941, in Raysal, WV, a son of the late Earl and Mabel (Starrett) Bryant. Roger was a devoted, loving, caring and hardworking husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, brother-in-law and uncle. He served 4 years in the US Navy then came home and met and married his beloved wife of 59 years, Sally Muncy Bryant. He and his wife Sally worked side by side everyday beginning their self-employment journey with the purchase of the English Drive Inn and Shell Service Station in English, WV. They eventually moved back to Raysal where he lived for the rest of his life. He and Sally then owned and operated Bryant’s Service Station which turned into Bryant’s Grocery where they worked hand in hand for the next 40 years. Roger devoted his life to taking care of his family and helping the members of his community. We will miss him greatly, but he will suffer no more.
In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Tonya Lynn Bryant; siblings, Doris Bryant, Reba Bryant, Richard Bryant, Nora St. Clair, and Harold Bryant.
Those left to cherish his memory are his best friend and loving wife of 59 years Sally (Muncy) Bryant of the home; son, Jeff (Anita) Bryant of Raysal, WV; daughter, Charlene Bryant of London, Kentucky and daughter, Angela (Barry) Marsh of Mullens, WV; grandchildren, Chelsey Rowe, Justin Hardin, Courtney (Billy) Roberts, Scarlett (James) Payne, Logan Marsh, Jeffrey (Tiffany) Bryant; great grandchildren, Bryson Golden, Emberly Roberts, James Payne, Zoe Payne and Aurora Bryant; siblings, Deloris Cooke, Anthony (Peggy) Bryant, Earl (Scarlett) Bryant, Sylvia Bryant, and Rita Crowder; brothers-in-law, Donald Muncy and Skeet Hyatt and sister-in-law, Shirley Katusich.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, February 15, 2022, 1 o’clock with Reverend Charles Rose officiating at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home Iaeger, WV. Friends may visit with the family from12 noon until the time of services. In honoring Roger’s wishes his body will be cremated following services.
Services will be held in accordance of COVID-19 guidelines. Masks are to be worn by all who attend and social distancing will be practiced.
