On Wednesday, February 9, 2022 Mrs. Valarie Regina Easley age 71, a life long resident of Northfork, WV who gained her wings, as she peacefully departed this life at the Cabell-Huntington Hospital in Huntington, WV.
She was born in Welch, WV on November 7, 1950 and the daughter of the late Bill and Virginia (Scruggs) Mitchell. Valarie was educated in the McDowell County Public School System. She was a devoted homemaker who loved taking care of her family, as It was her joy to cook and do laundry. She enjoyed shopping and watching television; especially the reality shows. Valarie will be remembered for her pleasant spirit, meeting others always with a smile, as she never met a stranger. She had a sincere willingness to help others in anyway that she possibly could it didn’t matter how great or how small. Valarie’s “catch phrase” was, “What You Mean?”
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Priscilla Easley, one brother, LeRoy James Scruggs and her long time companion, Tommy Bigelow.
Mrs. Valarie Regina Easley leaves a life time of cherished memories to her children: Eugene T. Easley Jr., of Bluefield, WV, Denise R. Easley of Kimball, WV and Casaunder M. (James) Jackson of Cleveland, OH; a stepdaughter, Pam Bigelow of Bluefield, WV; her brothers, Jody (Celeste) Mitchell of Bluefield, WV and Jamie Mitchell of Concord, NC; her sisters: Arnetta Mitchell of Keystone, WV, Carolyn Mitchell of Bluefield, WV and the Fathers of her children, Eugene T. Easley Sr. and Lysander Elliott; her grandchildren: Destiny, Keisha, De’Shawn, De’Andre, Darion, Jayme and Jahmia; her great-grandchildren: Skylan and Kane Easley; a host of nephews, nieces and cousins and her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Valarie’s extended family, Chayce and Brycen Argo of Coalwood, WV.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, February 18, 2022 at Midway Shiloh Temple in Keystone, WV with Pastor John Hale presiding, Evangelist Patricia Valentine eulogist and Pastor Earl Thompson assisting. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Gardens 6605 New Hope Road in Bluewell, WV. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Valarie’s Family and friends will serve as both pallbearers and flower bearers.
