NORTHFORK, W.Va. – At the January Town Council meeting, Northfork Council and Mayor approved Police Officer S. P. McKinney’s proposal that the nightly door checks of businesses in town be reinforced by the leaving behind of a small card that shows the date of the door check, the time of the door check and who has performed the check.

This program provides a visible confirmation the businesses’ doors and property are being checked by Officers of the Northfork Police Department.

The cards that were ordered for this purpose were used for the first time on Tuesday night, February 1st. Several positive comments from business owners have convinced the Mayor and Council this is a worthwhile program.
