McDowell County Sheriff’s Office Makes Multiple Arrests

MCDOWELL COUNTY, W.Va. – On Wednesday, March 2nd, 2022, Deputies with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop and deployed K9 Azra which alerted and found a large quantity of methamphetamine as well as a quantity of marijuana. 

Deanna Rose Winebarger of Stewart, VA was arrested and charged with the following: Defective Equipment, Driving Suspended, Possession with Intent to Deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, Possession with Intent to Deliver a Schedule I controlled substance, Transporting a controlled substance in the State for sale, No insurance, Felony conspiracy, Maintaining a vehicle for the sale of controlled substance.

Kimberly Dawn Howell of Stewart, VA was arrested and charged with the following: Felony Conspiracy, Possession with Intent to Deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, Possession with Intent to Deliver a Schedule I controlled substance, Transporting controlled substance into the state for sale.

Also on Wednesday, Deputies conducted a Search Warrant on Greenbrier Mountain (near Panther). Upon conducting the Search Warrant, Deputies seized a large amount of Methamphetamine along with a quantity of other controlled substances. 

Shelby Louise Hunt of Panther was arrested and charged with: Possession with Intent to Deliver a schedule I controlled substance, Possession with Intent to deliver a schedule II controlled substance, Possession with Intent to deliver a schedule IV controlled substance, Possession with Intent to Deliver a schedule V controlled substance, Maintaining a Residence for drug sales, Felony conspiracy.

All three individuals were arraigned before Magistrate Steve Cox and the following bonds were set: Winebarger $130,000.00; Howell $80,000.00; Hunt $100,000.00.

At the time of this release, all three have not made bond and are currently awaiting transport to the Southwestern Regional Jail.
