CLARK IRVIN LOCKHART

Clark Irvin Lockhart, affectionately known as “PG”, 80 of Panther, WV passed away Friday, April 15, 2022 at Mercer Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bluefield, WV surrounded by family and friends.

P.G. was born July 19, 1941 in Panther, WV a son of the late James Millard and Lorine Blankenship Lockhart.  He was born handicapped but his disability did stop him from hanging out in the woods camping, four wheeling, and enjoying the simple things in life with his brothers, cousins, nieces and nephew throughout his life.  P.G. loved the Lord and was of the Old Regular Baptist Faith.

In addition to his parents P.G. was preceded in death by one brother, James Leon Lockhart and one sister, Kathy Lorretta Justice.

Survivors include three brothers, Harlen Lockhart of Williamsburg, KY, Larry (Donna) Lockhart of Panther and Merrill (Kathy) Lockhart of Stuart, VA; a sister-in-law, Carol Lockhart of Panther; and his closest family that he loved as his own, nephew Bradley, Mary, Adam, and Adyn Lockhart of Panther which P.G. made his home with prior to Mercer Nursing and Rehabilitation and a host of other nieces and nephews, Teresa, Brandon, Amanda, Sarah, Harlen Jr., James, Christal, Kristy and Becky.

An evening service will be held Thursday evening, April 21, 2022 from 6 to 9 p.m. with services beginning at 7 p.m. at the Little Zion Old Regular Baptist Church, Greenbrier Mountain Road, Panther, WV.  Elders Fred Bailey, Danny Hurley, Danny McCoy, David Lester, Iven Blankenship, Richard Staten and Arthur Short will be officiating.  

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 22, 2022 beginning at 11 a.m. at the Little Zion Old Regular Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in the Lockhart Cemetery, Short Pole Branch Road, Panther, WV. P.G. will be driven to his final resting place by nephews, Adam and Adyn Lockhart. Pallbearers will be nephews and friends of P.G.

A very special and heart-felt thank you to Kim Lawson and Sam Mosser both of whom were very dedicated and devoted in taking care of “Clark.”  Thanks to all the staff of Mercer Nursing and Rehabilitation and all the residents for being so kind to him and for treating him like family.  You were all such great friends to “Clark” and it meant the world to him and the family.
