The morning of Saturday, April 23rd, the Lord took home his angel to rest, Frank Malenick, Jr.
Frank was a long-time resident of the Isle of Pines area of Moneta, Virginia. Born in 1942, Frank was raised in Hemphill, West Virginia. He graduated from Welch High School and later married the love of his life Mary Laktash Malenick of Havaco, West Virginia.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife Mary Laktash Malenick, his father Frank Malenick, his mother Rose Malenick, and his sister Nancy Malenick.
Frank was an active and involved part of the Welch community for decades. He worked in electronics beginning at a young age, retiring from Welch Radio decades later. Frank was very proud to have served both as a paid and volunteer fireman for the Welch Fire Department, until leaving the Welch area in 1992.
Frank was committed to making sure his community his safe, and spent much of his free time helping organize various community functions. He was a dedicated and loving father, husband, brother, and friend that will be greatly missed.
He is survived by loving daughters and songs, Lynne Malenick and Stacy Snider of Flagstaff, Arizona; Beth and Kyle Charlton of Moneta, Virginia; the light of his life – a grandson, Jordan Snider of Flagstaff, Arizona; his loving sisters Henrietta Pitts and Alice Sherman of Welch, WV; and Anita Operchuck of Maryland.
Services will be held for Frank at Roselawn Funeral Home, 450 Courthouse Road, Princeton, WV 24740 on Wednesday, May 4, 2022. A gathering will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. and a brief service will follow.
In lieu of any flowers or gifts of remembrance, the family requests that you instead donate to a charity of humanity.
Frank was a dedicated family man that loved his community and wanted life to be the best it could be for everyone. He would want us to help anyone, or any cause, that could help or improve humanity.
