The Welch News Embraces Technology, Moves to Full E-Edition and Weekly Print Publication

By Melissa Nester, The Welch News Publisher

WELCH, W.Va. – The story of humanity is encountering obstacles and adapting to overcome them. August will bring many changes to The Welch News as we transition to featuring our full print edition online for our subscribers and offering a weekly printed publication available in stores and by mail.

This transition will free our time and resources to concentrate on our original mission to cover local news. Our mission to inform our residents of the happenings discussed or voted on in various meetings and other news worthy events that affect our daily life here in McDowell County.

This transition will allow us to allocate more time to all areas of McDowell County as opposed to concentrating on print production with such a small staff. Our team looks forward to spending more time in our communities and seeing the beauty that McDowell County life has always brought to our residents.

Sadly, this transition will no longer allow us to use that historical 1966 Goss International Press, nor will it allow for home delivery.

We hope our readers continue to support our efforts to keep The Welch News a part of our community by subscribing online at welchnews.com, purchasing a mail subscription by calling Tom at (304) 436-3144 ext. 25 or buying copies each week at your local stores.

We also ask the community to bear with us as we work to adapt and overcome the new obstacles and learning curves ahead of us during this transition. Thank you for your continued support!
