NELLIE VIRGINIA GREEN

Nellie Virginia Green, 94, entered her heavenly rest in the late evening hours on August 2, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Nellie went to be with her Lord and Savior with open arms to be with her seven children who preceded her in death.

Nellie was the daughter of the late Estil and Cora Taylor Dillon. Born April 02, 1928, in Welch, West Virginia, Nellie was a resident of Davy, West Virginia the greater part of her life, of the Baptist faith and attended the Twin Branch Pentecostal Trinity Assembly. She loved and was loved by all who knew her.

Preceded in death by her late husband, Phillip Lacie Green, Jr. and her predeceased children: Phyllis, Melinda, infants Pamela and Eddie, Eugene “Hoppy”, Dean and Michael Green; as well as her deceased siblings: Raymond Dillon, Effie Mullins, Red Dillon, Herbert Dillon and additionally five deceased grandchildren.

Those family members remaining to cherish the memories of Nellie’s life include Rhonda and Richard Frasher of Twin Branch, West Virginia; Jewell and Doug Morgan of Cleveland, Tennessee; Ricky and Tina Green of Marytown, West Virginia; Tish and Jackie Walker of Twin Branch; Alice “Ninki” and Jerry Walker of Davy; daughter-in-law Kathy Green; and surviving sister Sarah “Connie” Harris of Roanoke, Virginia as well as the abundant blessings of twenty-seven grandchildren, forty-eight great grandchildren, twenty great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Services were held at Fanning Funeral Home Chapel in Welch on Friday, August 5, 2022, at 10:00 AM with Pastor Melissa Craft officiating. Pallbearers were Nellie’s grandsons. Burial followed at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, West Virginia. Visitation was held an hour prior to the service from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
