VONNIE MARIE JENKS


Vonnie Marie Jenks, 71 of Jolo, WV, passed away Friday, July 29, 2022 in Hickory, NC. 
Vonnie was born August 2, 1950 in Welch, WV, a daughter of the late William Robert and Allie Adams Maggard. Vonnie was a dedicated servant of the Lord and a member of the Bartley Church of God; she told everyone to get right with the Lord.  Vonnie was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed calling all her family and friends and facetiming.  Vonnie enjoyed having company where everything had to be clean and in order.  She will be missed dearly by so many.
In addition to her parents, William and Allie Maggard, Vonnie was preceded in death by her father and mother in-law, George Perry and Marry Belle Jenks; father-in-law, Andy Underwood, brothers-in-law, Mackie Jenks, Ellis Hensley, Tommy Jenks, Sr, and Fred Van Dyke; sisters, Stella Van Dyke, Lou Hearn, and Bertha Maggard and brother Buford Maggard.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Jerry Jenks Sr. of the home; one daughter, Teresa Eggers and husband Jason of Hickory, NC; two sons, William Jenks and wife Hope of Randleman, NC, and Jerry Jenks Jr. and friend Marandi Justus of Paynesville, WV; a daughter-in-law, Jennifer Underwood of Concord, NC; grandchildren, Kara Lingerfelt of Denver, NC, Zachary Campbell and wife Merideth of Mooresville, NC, Joseph Hanson of Maryland, Destiny Jenks of Mooresville, NC, Alexia (Katie) Jenks of Monroe, NC, Cari Ann Eggers of Hickory, NC, Riley-Beth Jenks of Randleman, NC, Willow Jenks Randleman, NC, Haley and Sierra Jenks of West Virginia. Adam Volk and Jeffery Lingerfelt both of Denver, NC; great grandchildren, Cameron Lingerfelt of Denver NC, Emma Winkler of Hickory, NC, and Aiden Volk of Denver, NC, Katherine and Elena Jenks of Mooresville, NC; three sisters, Bessie Hensley of Port Republic MD, Frances Peters of Lusby, MD and Linda Jenks of Sanford, NC; two very special friends, Judy Payne and Margaret Harrison; a sister-in-law, Deniece Jenks of Raysal, WV; brothers-in-law, Tommy Jenks Jr. of Raysal and Stanley Peters of Lusby, MD and numerous very special nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 o’clock Thursday, August 4, 2022 with Reverend Tommy Jenks officiating at the Family Worship Center in Jolo, WV.  Burial will follow in the Noah Stewart Cemetery on Keene Ridge Road at Paynesville, WV. Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Eggers, Zachary Campbell, Bobby Jenks, Scottie Jones, Maskel (Bubby) Jenks, Matthew Deskins, Andrew Jenks and Chris Jenks.
Friends visit with the family Wednesday evening, August 3, 2022, after 6 p.m. at the Family Worship Center in Jolo, WV; an evening service will be held at 7 p.m.  
Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, WV, is assisting the family.
