Displays Honoring McDowell County Veterans Open to Public in Bradshaw

BRADSHAW, W.Va. – Hundreds of pictures, memorabilia, uniforms, and more will be on display for public viewing on Saturday, November 12  from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the Bradshaw Community Room (former D&T building) near the Church of God.

Many local veterans and families have donated items or given permission for their photos to be displayed. Among those items on display are WWII Navy and Army uniforms, various flags, battlefield cross, trench art, Young Patriots of WWII books (which includes McDowell County), Vietnam pins, and so much more.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for the community to come out and show support for your veterans, discuss the displays with your children, and learn more about McDowell County history,” said Annetta Tiller. “This amount of military history could fill a museum room, it is truly that large and well worth the visit.”

The organizers, Kenneth and Annetta Tiller, of Bartley, are still looking for other pictures and items. If anyone has anything for display please contact them for more information at 304-967-2022.

McDowell County veterans will be honored on Sunday, November 13 at 2:00 pm with a dinner hosted by the Bradshaw Rebekah Lodge. This dinner will be held at the same site.
