Dr. Ingrida Barker was sworn in as the next Superintendent of Schools before the McDowell County Board of Education and former Superintendent Carolyn Falin on Tuesday last week.

Dr. Barker will begin the position in February, insisting that she will do everything in her power for the betterment of students across McDowell County as well as the faculty and staff that serves them each day.
